Journeying towards simplicity....

I don’t own fancy stuff. In fact, I don't even own so much stuff at all these days. Minimalism is a trend, right? Maybe so. But for me, it's also a path to a more enlightened perspective. How? It helps one to become more fully present. When we begin clearing physical clutter we may discover we've also begun clearing out our mental clutter, even some of our unpleasant past experiences. We start succumbing to the moment, here and now. And a quiet presence is always calming and offers pause for reflection. I highly recommend it.

It's been an amazing experience to feel the anxiety and stress greatly dissipate from my daily existence. I'm not implying that stress never happens, I'm speaking in general terms. The fact that I'm not surrounded by stuff is freeing me from the accompanying stress it created. The feeling of being overwhelmed with what needs cleaning or tending is gone. When you have less, everything you love or use has a place. And you know what? Even if I don't get around to vacuuming on schedule or there are a few of dust bunnies (we have 2 dogs and 4 cats) the place looks OK.....actually, better than ok.

Whenever you can just "be" in the present moment, doing whatever you're doing or doing nothing, you are in a sense experiencing a low level meditative state...a slight feeling of "enlightenment." So, clear your shit and clear your mind. It's a great place to "be."

I know many folks have already had this whole minimalist lifestyle going on for awhile, before it was a "thing."  To those peeps,"Thank you!" for being a big part of my inspiration! 🧡
